We have spent over £4500.00 over the winter and close season on the maintenance program for the green, the green is looking great and clearly reflects the hard work and expenditure that has been administered. A huge amount of congratulations to all that gave up their valuable time and effort over the winter to enable us all to play on a great surface and surrounds.
Further work parties to be arranged before the season starts – Dates T.B.C.
Opening of the green - 14th March.
The committee proposed there to be no increase in subscriptions this year and that it remain at the following amounts –
Senior - £20.00 + ( 7.00 Club Membership )
16-18 - £10.00
Junior - FREE
vets - £10.00
The Committee has requested that the memberships to be paid by the 31st March.
A warm welcome to the following members who have joined the club for the coming season - Conor Bray, Mark Jones, Ian Davis & Ray Cooper.
2020 Presentation Date will possibly be arranged for early November. Date T.B.C.
New competitions provided by Lynn Pritchatt to be played on our green 1. George Pritchatt Ladies Classic & 2. Frank Turner Veterans Comp. We are kindly asking for the members to support these events as both the competitions and the club will benefit. Dates and information to follow.
An exciting school Initiative provided by Ross Edwards for our club to be able to have the opportunity to go into a primary school and promote the game of bowls by a presentation by Dan Bodley, hopefully with some success the club may gain new members and with also the possibility to run to activator courses.
The Committee are asking all members to be on the search for new sponsorship and other possibilities of raising money for the bowls club throughout the season.
A new Club uniform has been introduced to the club and with the hard work of Mark Clayton we have been able to set up a new deal with Diamond Equestrian for our new clothing for the season. All the groundwork has been done now and is just a case of the members going and purchasing the clothing – Please liaise with Mark Clayton for further information however once completely set up the ordering process will be available able to view the process on this website.
Diane Badger and her family are participating in some charity work for mental health and have kindly asked the member base if they would like to sponsor her. This is worthy cause and we hope this will be supported by as many people as possible.
